Oldsmobile Calais, Engine Fire Recalls
Q: Do
you have any information about the '90 Oldsmobile Calais as to engine fires?
I've see information on '89's with engine fire problems. Were there any recalls
for the '90's?.......Beth
A: Yes,
there is a vehicle safety recall on some '90 Oldsmobile Calais. The ALLDATA
Information Systems shows bulletin No. 90-C-02 addressing this vehicle safety
concern. The safety recall was issued because the fuel lines for the fuel injection
system, under the hood of the vehicle, had not been properly tightened. The
connections may loosen and cause fuel to leak into the underhood area, which
could result in a fire. The fix, which takes very little time, requires proper
torquing (tightening) of the fittings for the fuel lines. Be sure to stop by
your nearest Oldsmobile Dealer to verify whether or not this safety recall applies
to your vehicle. As with all safety related recalls the Dealer is to perform
the necessary repairs on all involved vehicles at no charge to the vehicle owner,
regardless of mileage, age of vehicle, or ownership.
